012 Lima & Pachacamac

from 884.00

The closest archaeological site to Lima is Pachacamac, a pre-Inca collection of sand-blasted pyramid temples and palaces spanning 1,500 years. Over the centuries, the now ruined city developed into one of the Inca’s most important religious and administrative centers.

The rubble of walls and foundations rising from the surrounding dusty desert are what largely remain at this site. However, there are excavations to uncover more of what Pachacamac holds, as well as reconstructions such as the rebuilt Inca complex called House of the Chosen Women.
