This Paracas – Nasca Tour gives you the opportunity to discover the coastal side of Peru, and the pre-Incan cultures that thrived in the area, like the Nasca civilization. You visit the Ballestas islands, and observe hundreds of sea lions and sea birds.

The Antonini Museum is run by the Italian Centre of Pre-Columbian Studies and Archaeological Research. The museum is dedicated to the conservation and study of the archaeological heritage of the Nasca area. Here, you appreciate the evolution of the Nasca nation while seeing pieces of pottery, weavings, mummies, trophy heads and many other remarkable remains.

You also visit the Chauchilla cemetery, located about 30 km from Nasca. At the cemetery you see the ways they had at the time of burying people using ornaments and textiles. These mummies and artifacts still there today have survived the scorching sun and dry weather of Nasca. This tour is also combined with the less visited Cantalloc aqueducts. At the end of your journey you can choose to continue on to Arequipa or return to Lima.

DAY 1: Paracas

Your departure from bus station in Lima is set for 1:15 PM. The bus ride lasts 3 and a half hours, and our representative meets you at bus stop upon arrival to Paracas to drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. You can enjoy the sunset while walking around Playa Chaco and maybe even sip on a Pisco Sour in one of the restaurants in the area.

Overnight in hotel, double or single room with private bathroom No meals provided

DAY 2: Ballestas Islands Tour

We meet at Playa Chaco before 8 AM to board the boat that takes you for a short ride to the Ballestas islands. This is an excellent opportunity to see large families of sea lions sleeping on the shores, basking in the sun or growling loudly in their efforts to protect their territory. Also watch out for cormorants, the Peruvian booby, the Inca Terns and the Humboldt penguins nesting together in small groups. You return to Paracas by 10 AM. The ride back is sometimes rough and windy, so make sure to bring a scarf and a wind-breaker or light jacket.
Your bus to Nasca departs at 10:40 AM, and takes 4 hours until your arrival at Nasca. Our representative waits for you at the bus station and takes you to your hotel in town to drop off your belongings. After, you have a tour of the Antonini Museum, and then an introduction to the area and the sites around. Your guide walks you around the museum and provides insight of the history of the Nasca people, and recent findings at the Cahuachi site (museum open till 7PM). Later, you return to your hotel, and dinner is on your own.

Overnight in hotel, double or single room with private bathroom Meals provided: Breakfast and Box Lunch on the bus

Day 3: Tour to Chauchilla Cemetery

This morning you have the option to fly over the Nasca Lines. Depending on the weather and air traffic, the flights can sometimes be delayed.
In the afternoon you enjoy a tour of Chauchilla Cemetery. You are met by your guide in the hotel lobby at 2 PM. The Chauchilla necropolis is located approximately 30 kilometres southeast of the city of Nasca in the valley Las Trancas. Chauchilla Cemetery is a graveyard dating back more than 1000 years, and it belongs to the period of the Ica-Chincha culture.
At the end of the day, depending on your chosen itinerary (Nasca to Arequipa or Nasca to Lima) the buses depart around 10 PM. You can enjoy dinner in town and wait at your hotel for your transfer to bus station.
